Sora’s Preview Weekend Attracts 3,000 Visitors
The preview weekend of Sora, the latest 440-unit project developed by SingHaiyi in partnership with KSH Holdings and Ho Lee Group, saw an impressive turnout with 3,000 visitors by 5 pm. The sales gallery opened its doors to the public over the June 22-23 weekend.
Sora is strategically located on Yuan Ching Road in the Jurong Lake District, offering a 300-meter frontage of the scenic Jurong Lake Gardens. The project is set to launch on July 6, with prices starting at $1,850 per square foot (psf). This translates to just under $1 million for a one-bedroom-plus-study unit in the 99-year leasehold condominium. The development features a variety of unit types, ranging from one-bedroom-plus-study units of 538 square feet to expansive five-bedroom units up to 1,938 square feet.
Raymond Chia, Group CEO of SingHaiyi, expressed his satisfaction with the turnout, describing it as very encouraging. He noted that the attractive pricing and the unique features of the development, such as the Sky 360 rooftop terraces, were significant draws for visitors. These terraces offer uninterrupted views of Jurong Lake Gardens and cover a substantial area of 27,500 square feet, spread across two 12-storey and two 20-storey blocks.
Designed by ADDP Architects, with landscape consulting by Ecoplan Asia and construction by Nakano Singapore, Sora promises a blend of aesthetic appeal and functional design.
Ismail Gafoor, CEO of PropNex, highlighted that many potential homebuyers braved the rain on Saturday to visit the gallery. He noted that the starting price of $1,850 psf was particularly attractive to them. Gafoor emphasized that the strong response over the weekend indicates a continued robust demand for new project launches in the Outside Central Region (OCR) that are well-priced and situated in desirable locations.
The last significant launch in the OCR was the 553-unit Lentor Mansion in March, which achieved a 75% sales rate on its launch weekend and is now 81% sold at an average price of $2,268 psf as of June 23. With executive condos (ECs) being launched at prices above $1,500 psf, Gafoor mentioned that private condo projects in the OCR priced between $2,100 to $2,200 psf still offer reasonable value to homebuyers.
Sora’s successful preview weekend demonstrates a sustained interest in well-located and competitively priced residential projects, reinforcing the developer’s optimism for the upcoming launch.
